Day 01 - leave San José about 8:30 in the morning to drive though the Central Volcanic Mountain Range, passing by the town of Grecia; where the main attraction is it's steel church; Sarchi: the hand - craft town of Costa Rica, place in which you will be able to see the decoration of the traditional Ox-carts. San Carlos is the district in which the Arenal Volcano is located; a very rich agricultural district; beef, cattle, yucca, pineapple, lumber, tiquisque, cocoa beans, ornamental plants, etc. You will be arriving to the Arenal Paraiso Hotel about 2:00 p.m., check - in a little rest and then out again to the Arenal National Park looking-out for birds that are abundant in this area: herons, egrets, plains chachalacas, quails, hawks, vultures, eagles, kites, caracaras, falcons, doves, parrots, parakeets, owls, hummingbirds, trogons, woodpeckers, toucans and many more. Other, major attraction are the monkeys. Before sunset, you will return to your hotel and enjoy the Hot Springs where surrounded by nature, you will relax at this tropical paradise, always with the expectation of when the perfect conic volcano will make eruption. Overnight at Arenal Paraiso Hotel.
Day 02 - after breakfast you will make a drive of about 1:45 hours to the town of Los Chiles, where you take a small boat by the Rio Frio. You will visit the Caño Negro Wild Life Preserve. At Caño Negro you are able to see: caimans, slots, monkeys, iguanas and a lots of birds!!! Lunch and soft drinks are included. Back to the local hotel mid-afternoon, rest of the day to enjoy the hotel facilities, and observe the volcanic activity. Overnight at Arenal Paraiso Hotel. The last day after breakfast, morning visit to the Fortuna Waterfall. Afternoon return to San José, arriving about 4:00 p.m. Rates per person, minimum 2 passengers to operate the tour. Valle Dorado includes: transportation, tour guide, entrance fees to Arenal National Park, boat tour with lunch and soft drinks included to Caño Negro, two nights standard room tax and breakfast at Arenal Paraiso Hotel, and entrance fees to La Fortuna Waterfall. |
